Aaron Anderson, Bracelet, Tufa Cast, Classic, Sterling Silver, Navajo Made, 7''

One of the earliest techniques of the Navajo silversmith was to carve a sandstone to make their work. When you open up a book of antique Navajo art you are going to see images of old sandcast jewelry. This recreation of those old classics is magnificent, with a contemporary twist. Thick carved and earth textured silver along with the mirror polished edge really turn this into a rustic Southwest lifestyle piece. Navajo silversmith Aaron Anderson took some time to visit with us and we have posted the interview under artists on our website. He talks about learning sandcast techniques and that eventually leading him to tufa carving where he had more control over his designs. His variety of work is amazing and make sure you check out all the Aaron Anderson pieces on our online Trading Post, true pieces of Navajo treasure.
