The first thing that had to happen was the artist had to make a bowl. Then he filled that bowl with an amazing collection of inlay art. You will find turquoise, jet, shells and coral making up the inlay pattern. Navajo and San Felipe artist brings the Trading Post a very different style of art then we get from other silversmiths. His technique is found in the Pueblos closer to Albuquerque and Santa Fe, not way out on the western edge of New Mexico. He takes shells, not sterling silver, and fills them with mosaic inlay patterns. This is a great piece to put on your desk and be reminded daily of the beauty found in Native American art.
