Spider Woman took a young Navajo girl in Canyon de Chelly and taught her how to weave. That young girl in return went out and taught other Navajo woman how to weave rugs and that is how it began. Navajo artist Aaron Anderson tells this story in this incredible work of wearable art. You find Spider Woman at the center of this tufa carved bracelet. On one side of this historical teacher is a woven rug showing the classic patterns of a Navajo rug, and the other side reveals her masterful weave. A museum piece of tufa cast art made just for you.
