Aaron Anderson, Bracelet, Heishi, Mediterranean Coral, Navajo, 6 1/2"
Aaron Anderson, Bracelet, Heishi, Mediterranean Coral, Navajo, 6 1/2"
I don't know the inspiration behind this design, but it has been incorporated into Navajo jewelry early on. Many artists draw from their environment and this does closely resemble a common Four Corner's arthropod. Take a hike out into the high desert and push over a rock and there you will find the centipede. This interesting creature is filled with legs and has a long body. Navajo silversmith Aaron Anderson has recreated the centipede in this unique silver and stone cuff. He has filled the body with stones and legs with gorgeous stamped silver. You will find the narrow design of the cuff will wear comfortably all day long, and no one should be frightened when they see this stunning piece.
