When you grow up in Gallup, New Mexico you own a belt buckle. One that goes perfectly with that hand tooled belt you got as a Christmas present. The best thing about many of the buckles here is that they have been handmade, maybe even by a friend. Navajo silversmith Aaron Anderson is part of that belt buckle culture. He has made numerous buckles and each tells a little story. This buckle incorporates flying arrows of the Navajo warrior, as well as that recognized Navajo rug pattern border. Right in the center he weaves together blue and green turquoise stones to make the mosaic inlaid design. A heavy polished border brings everything together.
