You just don’t see many rings by legendary Navajo artist Harry H Begay, and that is just too bad. Harry makes an excellent ring that captures the beauty of Navajo silver. It all begins by taking scrap silver and making an ingot, and then he rolls the ingot into the desired thickness and cuts out his ring. That is when all the filing comes into play and you begin to see the reward of the labor intensive technique with those gorgeous flares coming from each end of the stone. Harry also decorates with stamped cutouts, silver drops, and twisted wire. The next best thing after the silver work is the pieces of classic American rock. Kingman Turquoise from Arizona is an excellent choice for this handmade work. This stone has that magnificent deep blue color with a tight black spider web matrix, a stone made for handmade Navajo silver. Who knows how many chances you will have to own a Harry H Begay ring, amazing craftsmanship. 26.8 Grams
