In the mid 1980s Zuni Trader C.G. Wallace had a specimen of Number Eight Turquoise that was close to eight pounds. Lets take a step back and remember that this is 1980s when someone wanted a couple dollars a carat for a turquoise stone that was considered a huge price. Perry offered Wallace $10,000 for that incredible rock and was turned down, and he has never seen another close to that quality. Now over 20 years later he comes in to buy a piece of Bisbee in a trade that is high quality stone. Lets take a step forward to 2010 when a piece of turquoise with over a $200 carat price is not unheard of, and some would say common. The rock has that amazing Bisbee blue with swirls of chocolate matrix. You could make some wonderful cabs, large cabs, or keep in the case to thrill rock hounds. Figuring a value is always a little tricky when it comes to rough turquoise. This rock weighs 1.28lbs that converts to an average yield of around 1280 carats, lots of Bisbee. Bisbee of this grade you find on the market ranging from $20 to $40 a carat, well lets say at our price it will be a great return on investment if you decide to cut it up. If not, it is like the amazing pieces of handmade art you find this stone in, a piece to admire and appreciate.
