Zuni jewelry artists have specialized in lapidary work. They create amazing pieces of art, and many times those pieces are filled with very small cuts of stones. You will find a variety of pieces done in mosaic inlay, needlepoint, channel inlay and pettipoint by Zuni artists. This pair of pierced earrings is made by Zuni artist Viola Bobelu and is done in a classic needlepoint style. She dangles pieces at the end for a very nice finish. Viola uses a mirror polish to bring out the vibrant red color of the stone.
