One of the most frequent questions I get asked on the Perry Null Trading forum is who made my art. It always amazes people that we don't know all the artist, especially since we are right here in the "Heart of Indian Country". At the same time many people don't believe us when we tell them how many different people in this area make art, it would be a stretch to know 5% of the artists here. So, when we get a piece of pottery from a Hopi artist we might not realize the great talent in front of us. Of course the art is amazing, but we live in a very special place that is full of amazing artists. I googled Lawrence Namoki and found an article about him on Southwest Art's website. The story is incredible and matches the magnificent pottery. Make sure you do the same google search.
