New Mexico is a very unique State and has many fascinating cultures that mix into everyday life here. When you see people outside of the Four Corners area wearing big jewelry it is a little unusual, but here in Indian Country that is about all you see. Jewelry is seen as a sign of prosperity here and the bigger the piece and the heavier the silver the better it is. People wear fortunes here in silver and stone and the vaults of the Trading Post can have priceless pieces of wearable art. Navajo silversmith Delbert Gordon held true to this tradition when he made this incredible cluster bolo. It all begins twelve pieces of magnificent Kingman Turquoise, especially that huge nugget cut in the middle. They all sit on a heavy silver that is decorated with simple drops and a unique heavy twisted wire around the large center stone. Delbert uses a handmade leather bolo cord and stamped bolo tips along with keepers to finish the collectible piece. This is as good as it gets, enjoy your new piece of Navajo treasure.
