Navajo artist Hank Whitethorne comes from a very remote part of the Navajo Nation. Close to the Four Corners he is inspired by many different landscapes. The high peaks of the Rocky Mountains, deep reds of the Monument Valley mesas and the striking blue of Lake Powell. His art is as diverse as his home?s landscape. This incredible concho belt shows that same diversity. Hank uses a collection of different turquoise mines to inlay this large silver belt. You will find shades of blue and green highlighted by the mirror shined sterling silver. The ancient Native American design surrounding the stones are like the ones found on the walls of the Four Corners. I can?t imagine the amount of time it took to fill this large belt with all of those inlaid stones. Hank is known for his unusual works of wearable art, and I can?t imagine he has made to many of these collectible pieces.?
