Living in Gallup, New Mexico is a one-of-a-kind experience. You hear people talk about the United States of America being a melting pot of cultures, but it is a little different here. This is Indian Country and that culture is strong and influential here. Our food, art, games, architecture and jewelry all have a Native American influence. Navajo artist Lester James makes his pieces with traditional techniques and materials. This ring is a fascinating long rectangle design that is filled with a puzzle of inlaid Chinese Turquoise stones. The beautiful rocks show off this amazing combination of blue and black webbed matrix. Lester uses a sterling silver tufa cast setting to display the gorgeous rocks.
