Vincent, Socorro Johnson, Ring, Kingman Turquoise, Zuni, 8
In the late 1800s a Navajo silversmith taught a Zuni artist, Lanyade, the art of jewelry making. It wouldn’t be silver that defined the Zuni silversmith, but instead his mastery of stone. Styles like inlay and small needlepoint have become what the Zuni artist is known for. Plus, they take the time to make small pieces of art that are very different from the large works of the Navajo. This cluster ring is filled with tons of small hand picked and shaped Kingman Turquoise stones. Artists Vincent & Socorro Johnson have mastered this needlepoint style. You will fall in love with this art and it is a wonderful way to show your appreciation of Native American art daily.
