Navajo silversmith Monty Claw talks about watching his father as a young boy. The inspiration, tools and techniques have followed him into adulthood. He talked to us about attempting to make a knife as a boy. That led to us asking Monty to make one for the Trading Post. What we got back blew us all away. We never expected to get a knife that looked like it came from an experienced maker. The handle is beautifully done in his tufa cast style with multi-stone inlay on one side with a carved silver eagle on the other. A stainless steel blade that has a unique grind pattern fits securely into the sterling handle. This is the first in what we hope is a series of knifes from Monty, enjoy something a little different.
