This rug comes out of a local private collection. Every year Gallup hosts the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial. A number of area artists create their best works to be judged on. Collectors from the area and around the world come to view the art, with a chance to purchase the award-winning pieces. That is how this rug came into the owner's collection. The rug was purchased in the 1980s and has remained in the family collection until now. A unique Storm pattern weaving that has sand painted style Yei's in all four corners. The size and tightness of weave is very impressive.
