Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace, Number Eight Turquoise, Circa 1950, 24"

Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace, Number Eight Turquoise, Circa 1950, 24"
When Bob Brucia of Nevada Gem put together his book Turquoise Jewel of the Southwest he concentrated on mines from Nevada. He took the best stones he had of the classics Lander Blue Turquoise, Lone Mountain Turquoise, and Number Eight Turquoise. All of the Number Eight stones had one thing in common, they were blue with black spider web matrix. It is the desired colored for rock collectors and is the hardest to get. This magnificent circa 1950s squash blossom necklace showcases thirty-five of these desirable rocks. Each of them is a perfect match with a striking deep blue color and distinct black web. They sit on a traditional Navajo bow tie squash blossom necklace. The piece does not have an artist hallmark but the work is of a master-silversmith.
