Navajo artist Floyd Parkhurst draws on this old cast ring shank inspired rings. It would be common for a Zuni silversmith to cast a heavy ring shank for a trader like C.G. Wallace who would give it out to his Zuni and Navajo artists. Google Dan Simplicio Zuni ring and you will see the legendary cast shank. Floyd takes the old design and gives it his twist. Instead of a cast ring shank this one is hollow and the top is this unique with this sunken sunburst design. Right in the center is a deep red Mediterranean Coral stone. The silver work on this ring is excellent and really shows off the stone perfectly. He has finished the ring with a traditional stamp design and mirror polish.
