Navajo silversmith Edison Sandy Smith has a number of collectors that find out where he lives on the Navajo Nation. They know that he only makes a limited number of pieces and that his work can only be found at a handful of galleries in New Mexico and Arizona. Once they find his workshop they are reminded of why they are attracted to his work. Edison uses an old hogan that has been filled with his jewelry making techniques. He doesn't rush his work, it could be months before you get an order from this silversmith. Even when he is done and ready to give the piece its polish that is done by hand instead of a buffing machine.
