I don't know if being from Arizona was an influence for Navajo artist Hank Whitethorne when he made this fascinating pair of earrings. It does remind you of the iconic Grand Canyon State flag with the rays of the sun. However, Hank is a very traditional Navajo man and the earrings could represent a healing Holy Person. Whatever the inspiration the earrings are fantastic. He uses a combination of red spiny oyster shell, blue lapis, turquoise and deep red coral to make the inlay dangles. You are going to be the only one with a pair of earrings like this.
