Zuni, New Mexico sits in a gorgeous valley surrounded by high mesas and dense forest land. People are attracted to this area for many reasons and just outside of the Reservation border you will find lots of home sites. Coming from the east you drive in on a road that is filled with cornfields. These fields represent culture and survival and are very important to the Zuni People. The Kokopelli is said to have seeds stored in his hump and play his flute during planting. Him being at the initial planting is a sign of a good crop to come. Zuni artists Ruddell & Nancy Laconsello made this magnificent piece. They have fashioned the Kokopelli with shell, jet, coral, and turquoise stones. You can wear this as a pin or pendant, either way it will look spectacular on you.
