Navajo Concho Belt, Circa 1950s, Lone Mountain Turquoise, Artist Unknown, 52"
Nothing says Navajo silver like a traditional concho belt. We have all seen those classic images of Jim Morrison and Ralph Lauren wearing one of these magnificent creations. Something magical about this style of creations, especially when it is worn along with traditional Navajo dress. This incredible belt is over a half-century old and consists of the large rectangle buckle, seven butterflies, and six conchos. Each piece combines a combination of flat stamp work and repousse work. All fourteen pieces have a piece of turquoise. You will find some of the stones have small cracks and have changed colors over the years, giving you that desired vintage look. The leather is 52” long but can be adjusted or replaced. Imagine adding this to your collection of Navajo silver and stone.
